USA School bus problem?

I'm living in country sri lanka,I saw in T.V the school children in USA going to school and come back from a yellow buses .Is that travel facility free for all school students in USA? or have to pay some fee for the bus owner?

  1. Almost all travel to and from a public school in the US is free. The traditional yellow  and black school bus is use through out the nation. The only time I have heard of paying for this service is if the child lives with in a mile of school. Some school consider  walking to school even within a mile is not safe (busy roads or no sidewalks)  and provides free busing


  2. School buses are free to all students within a school district. If they go to the school that is in the district they are living in then they can ride the bus there. It is paid for through taxes of all the citizens in that district. However, if a student wants to go to a private school that does not provide busing or a school outside of their district, they will not be able to ride the bus there.
