USA Volleyball reveals names of HP Championships Lead Coaches
The High Performance Championships is regarded as one of the flagship events of USA Volleyball (USAV), which features more than 90 teams in boys and girls tournaments every year.
Teams from the USA Volleyball High Performance pipeline, teams from USA Volleyball Region HP teams, and also some International teams take part in the HP Championships. The 2012 edition of HP Championships will get underway this July. Since the event is
approaching near, the volleyball governing authority in America, the USAV is focused to prepare the teams beforehand.
The USA Volleyball has recently announced its lead head coaches for the 2012 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships for each girls’ and boys’ age group. The names of selected coaches are as followed:
Deitre Collins-Parker- U.S. Girls’ Youth Continental Team Tom Hogan- U.S. Girls’ Select A1/A2 Teams Jeff Wanderer- U.S. Girls’ Select Continental Team Kevin Moore- U.S. Boys’ Youth Age Group (HP Championships Ken Shibuya- U.S. Boys’ Select Age Group (HP Championships Todd Dagenais - U.S. Women’s Junior A2 Team Blaine Tendler - U.S. Women’s Junior Continental Team Shelton Collier- U.S. Girls’ Youth A2 Team
Speaking of the significance of the HP coaches, the Senior Director of USAV Tom Pingel said, “Any time a coaching staff with this level of experience, not only at past HP Championship events, but also in the international arena, it establishes a level of
expertise and professionalism that will undoubtedly be imitated by the rest of the coaching staff. The athletes will be the real winners and will benefit greatly by working with these coaches.”
Deitre Collins-Parker, the head women’s volleyball coach at San Diego State University, has been given the daunting task to guide the U.S. Girls’ Youth Continental Team through HP Championships. Parker has spent plenty of time coaching youth teams and USA
did not take long to decide that he was the right person to take this responsibility.
Likewise, Tom Hogan, who was formerly attached with U.S. Women’s National Team as an assistant coach, will serve as the lead coach for the U.S. Girls’ Select A1/A2 Programs. On the other hand, Jeff Wanderer is the new mentor of U.S. Girls’ Select Continental
Team for the 2012 HP Championships. Previously, he served as the head women’s volleyball coach at West Hills College in California.
Kevin Moore served as the head men’s volleyball coach at Juniata College. He has been appointed to help the U.S. Boys’ Youth programs at the upcoming HP Championships, while Ken Shibuya, who was associate head coach at Stanford University, will now take
over the U.S. Boys’ Select program.
Further down in the row there comes Todd Dagenais, the head women’s volleyball coach at University of Central Florida, who will serve as the head coach for the U.S. Women’s Junior A2 Program. Blaine Tendler and Shelton Collier have been appointed as the
U.S. Women’s Junior Continental Team and U.S. Girls’ Youth A2 Team, respectively.
