I live in the USA since 2000 and have a legal alien card and work permit and ssn. I worked since I arrived to Nevada at the same place. I have not been married, neither to an Italian nor an American man. What do I have to do to get American Citizenship? How many years to I have to live in the States? My Alien card expires next year and I can renew it again, but I want to apply for citizenship. Please help, any imput is really appreciated. I am Italian. Thank you for all your help.

  1. It is very easy.  Provided you have been a green card holder for at least five years, you fill in the N-400 form and go from there.  The form is available at the USCIS website.
