Question:

USA gymnastics sportsmanship?

I was watching gymnastics for the last 4 or 5 days, and I noticed something strange. When Alicia Sacromone got fourth in vault, she just pushed away another gymnast trying to hug her, and when Nastia won silver, she got really mad and was yelling. Then, when Shawn Johnson was floor, she clapped and hugged everyone, even the gold medal winner and wasn't all mad. Notice that Shawn has better sportsmanship. Star if you agree.

  1. How people treat others shows how they are feeling. A happy person treats other nicely. A very unhappy person, gets a gun and shoots people.

They should learn that by treating others nicely it can make you happier.

  2. Who is Shawn Johnson?..... Tell u what im gonna check it up then get back to u!!!

  3. As an Aussie viewing the competition, I just thought that Shawn Johnson showed great professionalism in the way she carried herself during the competition. She appears to be very well adjusted and took most things in her stride, even when she didn't win. I loved to see her smile and she was dignified the whole time, and appeared to acknowledge the different competitors. It was just brillant to watch her and well done.

  4. Yeah, Shawn has great sportsmanship. Nastia and Alicia are just better gymnasts.

  5. Is it just me or does Shawn ALWAYS smile...not that it's bad but...

Shawn does have better sportsmanship, though.

  6. Yeah i noticed that too, I find that Alicia and Nastia are a bit rude and have no sportsmanship but i feel that Shawn supports all of the countries and is happy for eveybody

  7. Alicia got screwed in the vault.  The judges play to the home crowd.  The Chinese girl that won bronze landed on her knees on her second vault and still got a 15.025.

Nastia also did a better routine than He but got the same score on the uneven bars.  And the tiebreaker was just random.

Shawn is awesome and so cute :)

  8. Of course Shawn has better sportsmanship. It's a shame because Shawn is younger than them too and she acts more mature. She even hugs the girls of different countries after their routines if they did a good job.

  9. Yep Shawn Johnson is the only good one out of the lot of them.

I particularly can't stand that Nastia Luikin. Especially after all the c**p she and her father said after the bars final. Saying Australia has it in for her? What the? Such poor sportsmanship. Maybe it was unfair how she got silver. But don't single out an individual judge and say she has it in for you. Surely it's the scoring system and not the judge. Now this poor lady has had a hate mail campaign against her.

Honestly if you do loose I understand it can be upsetting. But keep you mouth shut and smile. Accept it gracefully and don't go on a rant about how unfair it was. So stupid. This is why other countries can't stand American athletes.

  10. i totally agree!

Shawn Johnson has displayed class, great sportmanship and a amazing amount of talent during this olympics! She is easily one of the more likeble members of the team!

I remember watch Cheng Fei fall on the floor and after she finished her rountine, Shawn went over to give her a hug. That is easliy on of the most classyiest moment during this years olympics, and for that moment Shawn display the true Olympic spirit!

  11. Yeah, Alicia and Nastia seem kind of bitter...but I don't think they were scored fairly. Shawn is just a sweety & and a great sport! I think she's a better gymnast than them too....shhhh
