USA school system? confused

how does it work ?

like is there a seperate campus for say yeasr7,8,9 and then a seperate one for 10,11,12?

im confused how it works?

  1. Usually you go to elmentary school, which is like primary school.

    Kindergarten (age 5) and then first through fifth or sixth grade. Then we move campuses for middle school, which is grades 7,8 and sometimes sixth.

    Then there is high school which is 9,10,11,12.

    Sometimes there are small private schools, which have all grades, but in the free public school system you usually end up going to 3 schools by the time you graduate from high school.

    Well grade school is K-5

    Then there is middle (or jr. high) grades 6-8

    and then high school, grades 9-12

    And majority of schools have separate campuses.  Although I went to a high school for 6 weeks that was connected to a middle school.  And there are some grade schools connected to middle schools.  But for the most part, yes, there are separate campuses.
