USA views on UK Gas prices?

Just curious. Do you guys in the USA know how much petrol/gas costs here in the UK? I went to the states last summer and was SHOcKED by the price of gas over there per gallon.

Currently in the US it's about $3.83 per gallon? That would equate to around 30-35 pence per litre in the UK. Is this considered a lot in the US?

  2. I'm from the UK, but live over in the US. My gas/petrol bill when I go back to the UK is a lot less than over here because a) the cars are more efficient, b) the distances I need to drive to do the same activities are a lot less and c) there is much better public transport in the UK. Gas prices may be lower in the US, but the cost of getting around is lower in the UK, for our family at least...

  4. Dont know what 30-35 pence is but i just read about $8 for a gallon eaquated to the dollar in the UK.  That is alot But we also have different habits
