  1. You laid out some interesting sub plots here.

    1. All the armed forces in the world

    2. Conventional weapons only

In this scenario, we are vulnerable from sea, land and air. Forward land assault bases can be located in both Canada and Mexico. From these locations, land forces can cross into the center of the country and open up two additional fronts, East and West of center.

Our Navel forces could block some of the troops attempting to land, but we have thousands of miles of undefended coastline.

In the example you give, we have no allies, only adversaries.

I think we would be all over in a matter of weeks, months at the most. We are a technology based society. Most of us couldn't tell the difference between and IED and an IUD.

  2. US -pros

         Very defendable.

         World best airforce

         World's best navy

         Large industrial democratic nation

         Large amount of land

         Heavily armed civilian population

Moral high ground (defensive war right?)

         Cons-

Heavily outnumbered and outgunned (mostly inferior quality though)

    That is all.

The majority of the rest of the world wouldn't be able to attack the USA, simply because they don't have the logistics to. There would be widespread friendly fire and communication problems in the combined army due to the various cultures. The US navy and airforce is in luck in that their coasts are extremely defensible. Attacking from the seas, even with a coalition (basically what you are saying) navy, would be suicide. They could try attacking through Canada  and Mexico, but if those two countries are included, you can assume that the US will have beat them in a hurry. The only real threats would be Europe. China could support with some troops, but not that much vaunted 10 million. These troops would be equipped with European weapons (admit it, they are better than russian ones), but they would lack experience and would probably be knocked out very early unless they were somehow integrated with the European forces. Russia is a shadow of its former self. All their equipment is inferior, and despite their bluster, they are only a regional power now. European forces are world powers and they could work together comparatively well, but not as well as 1 nation. They would probably have more forces, but not the motivation, nor the amount of forces usually acknowledged to be necessary to capture (3:1). They would be at a severe disadvantage due to their lack of carriers for power projection. The US would own the skies no doubt, and They would either own the seas, or make the supply lines untenable. It is acknowledged that Countries that are impossible to invade and occupy are (in order of increasing difficulty), Canada, Russia, China, USA.

Basically what would happen is alot of needless deaths from the attacking forces, and a major recession/ crash in economies around the world. It would be easier for the US to rebuild the industries back on their homeland than it would for other economies to find more customers, so the US would come out relatively better. There would probably be a policy of isolationism.

  3. I expect with the "gun free" zones along the liberal east and west coasts we'd lose them in short order but as the enemy fought inward they'd meet the owners of Smith and Wesson's, Winchesters and the like. In a all out war I think we would win but barely.

  4. We would make any fighting able person in the US either fight or work in industry making weapons for us to use to fight. Every American would be armed. We would have massive amounts of troops because of the draft and we would put up a Helluva fight. It could go either way but we are the only country in the world that you can't give an exact answer on, any other country would be finished.

  5. it would depend on way too many variables, i think it would last a some years because America would start with many strategic advantages, like a presence all over the world, and the ability to put troops on the ground anywhere in the world in 24 hours, nobidy else can come close to that

  6. well wouldnt happen 1 because u.s.a doenst fight in a lot of wars and there is a treaty between the u S and several countries us would last but u.s would have to voulenteer with the armed forces

  7. Iraq War and Afghan War. Six years now, and those wars aren't over yet, and nobody knows when will they end. Is this how powerful the US military is?.

  8. Predicting what would happen several years into the conflict, if it lasted that long, once economics and industry start playing major factors, is just about impossible. But for the first couple of years, it would be a stalemate, most likely. Not even the entire world, combined, could even hope to break the US Navy, and an invasion would be difficult, if not impossible, until that happened. However, it'd be even more difficult for American forces to mount an invasion of any other countries aside from Canada and Mexico, in such a situation. Little or no progress would be made by either side, and the global economy would be crashing, all the while.

  9. Well, we aren't much liked in the rest of the world, I promise.  Time was, most Europeans liked us.  Not so.  When we travel, we never admit any longer that we are americans....we tell them we're Canadian.

I am embarrasssssssed for this country, and the leaders we have presently... sad.

We'd have more friends if our government weren't so hostile.

  10. what will happen is, a lot of things will collapse. War takes its toll very much on the economy, and when you hit hard at the worlds biggest consumer-country, the whole supply-and-demand thing will go crazy...

Governments avoid war when possible not simply because they don't want trouble or they don't want to endanger their fellow countrymen... there's a lot of money involved in it, too.

  11. US is strong and all, have the worlds biggest and best Navy and Airforce but thats just too crazy.

  12. it will be other way around, US will attack rest of the world. US is so strong they won't attack because they can't - pacific and atlantic oceans. US has submarines and heavy bombers that can attack any spot on the world. The rest of the world can just hope the americans send their troops so they have something to shoot at instead of bombs raining on them. If US launches a surprise first strike, conventional weapons only ( assuming there are no nuclear weapons ) , the conquest of the world will probably be over in about one month or less. then, hello worldwide resistance guerilla warfare.

  13. We could be able to smash the US in an all out war. Don't forget the powerful armies of the world and if you combine every every country of the world, then we could be able to smash America.
