USA wins gold at FIVB Grand Prix 2010
America’s national volleyball women team made its country proud by clinching gold at the FIVB Grand Prix 2010 in China. Great talent combined with a sturdy resolve as the players achieved success at every stage of the tournament.
The American team lost two matches in the opening round of the game but they re-aligned their lines and improved on their flaws. The amazing timing and coordination brought them fruitful results as they won every game in the remainder of the tournament. USA finished the preliminary round iat second spot with 21 points in hand. They entered the fourth and final round with five other teams and signalled their victory in the early matches as they swept everyone’s feet away.
The U.S. team played five matches in the final round and proved their endeavour in every single match. They fought well and produced amazing results while battling with the other teams in the squad. The team came face-to-face with defending champion Brazil, Italy and hosts’ China, but nothing could hold them back from making their way to clinch gold.

The American team kicked off their winning-streak by defeating Poland in the first match of final round. Poland proved to be tough competitors in the game but lost the match to U.S. after a tiring battle. U.S. team posted a 3-2 (13-25, 18-25, 28-26, 25-19, and 15-12) victory over Poland.

Italy had earned the reputation as the best team as it defeated defending champions Brazil with an up-set win in the early phase of the tournament. The Italians proved to be a dangerous team for their quality counter-attacks. Somehow, USA didn’t give them a chance to create any awkward news and sidelined them with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, and 25-14) defeat.
New kid on the block – Third-day, 27th August 2010
America met the defending champions in an important match on third day of the final round. It was the most sought after match for fans as the defending champion was on a task to secure the title. The match spanned on five long sets and kept both teams in a do-or-die condition. The Americans proved their prowess once again.
Although Brazil had a good start and won the first set by a margin of three points, the Americans bounced back and confirmed their authority in the next sets. Brazil strongly resisted the American lead and levelled the game in the fourth-set. Nonetheless, the pumped up U.S. team outshined and declared match-victory by capturing the final set.

Yes, you got it. The U.S paid back to host-nation. They had their second meeting with China on the 4th day of final round. It was an easy task for a rising American team to overcome China. The U.S. won in three straight sets.

The U.S. team achieved their mark by defeating Japan in the final match. The Japanese team collapsed after a three-set game and accepted defeat. The U.S. appeared as the new champion of the FIVB Grand Prix Volleyball Championship. Their hard-work and dedication was answered and U.S. finished as the top team of the tournament with 13 points.
