  2. Hi,

All pay in the military is based on rank, and how long you've been in.  Additionally aircrews get "Aviation Career Incentive Pay", which are four-dollar words to say "flight pay".  What one makes is totally due to rank, and time in grade.

WHAT one flies makes zero difference as far as pay is concerned.

In case you're wondering what you need to do:

1- You have to go to college and get a Bachelor's (4 year) degree

2- You have to be accepted, and finish a commissioning program.  Only officers are pilots (in the USAF).

3- You have to be accepted and complete "Undergraduate Pilot Training".

The best things you can do now, are: stay in school, and get good grades.  If you have some study habit issues, get them fixed by the time  you hit HS.

Consider joining your local Civil Air Patrol and JROTC (doesn't matter if it's not USAF).  The CAP is a great way to get some free flying.

Stay out of trouble with the law, and stay away from drugs.  We don't let felons, and drug users fly multi-million aircraft.

Good luck, if you have any other questions about the USAF or flying, please PM me
