  1. As with most things now days many people are quick to judge withouth seeing the hard facts.

I have started taking USANA products for a few months now, and they are priced higher for a reason. Most people think if a vitamin is on the shelves they assume its good for you. Contrary to that perception, professional doctors will tell you otherwise.

The reason why USANA is exceptional is due to them volountarily complying with pharmaceutical grade. Their products have been rated 97/100 as opposed to centrum - the lower end vitamins which got a rating of only 13/100.

The main aspect of vitamins is how they disolve, and most products out there dont disolve and go in one way and out the other (my friend did an xray on a stomach of one of her clients and saw a centrum pill undisolved so much so that they could read the name of the pill) USANA has 100% potency guarantee. So it disolves in the right places in your body.

long story short, their products are proven to improve health and have solid credentials. And as a user of their products i would recommend it.

  2. I know a couple of people who sell them. I believe - stand to be corrected - the only reason why they are more expensive that other brands is because of the MLM dream that they sell (and have to pay). The same reason why Amway/Network 21 products are so expensive for what they are.

IMHO, MLM is a very tricky dream. You can live that dream - but you may lose all of your friends. May, not always. Just have to weigh up the scale.

I have a couple of bottles of USANA products in my cupboard from these people. Been taking them. I have no loyalty towards any particular brand though. Some of the Australian local brands are quire good I believe. I may be wrong, I think the Australian regulations in relation to those are a lot tougher than the American regulations. So I have no qualm taking any cheaper local products. That's just me.

  3. Yes.  USANA has been around for a number of years selling its' particular high priced version of ordinary vitamins.  My wifes family were heavily into it for a few years so I am very familiar with it.

It is a multi-level marketing company along the lines of Amway.   It is not a classic pyramid scheme...but it is close.

While there is a huge profit margin in selling 50 cents worth of vitamins for a $100, money is made mostly by signing up new people to be sales reps, and you then take a cut of their sales.  They also get their customers to sign long term contracts for ongoing vitamin supplies.  After you've hit up all your friends and relatives to buy your expensive vitamins, or work for you, the market pretty much dries up.

Take vitamins if you must...but the cheap store brands are just as good.  It is little advertised that there are only a few suppliers of vitamins in the world, and most of the well known vitamin companies buy the raw product from them, and simply package them under their brand.

Also, a quick Google using the terms USANA, fraud, and skeptics turns up all sorts of interesting financial information about them.
