USAV opens 2011 Beach Junior Tour registration
USA Volleyball (USAV) has opened registration for 2011 Beach Junior Tour.
The 2011 edition of the USA Beach Junior Tour will feature a total of 24 Beach Volleyball events in 18 American regions and seventeen states.
In the last season, the Beach Junior Tour in USA organised 22 events, while 3,124 athletes from 17 regions participated in the campaign. This year, the number of events has increased and it is likely to attract more participants as compared to previous years.
USA Beach Junior Tour started in 2006 and featured only 12 events. The number of events, regions, and, participants kept on rising with every passing year. That’s how it reached the mark of 24 in the running season.
The increase in number of events clearly indicates the growing popularity of beach volleyball in America. The Beach Junior Tour perfectly caters to the needs of a young crop of beach players in America.
Over the past few years, the Junior Beach Tour has proved to be the most effective tool in helping young athletes to live their dream of playing at NCAA, the Olympics and other competitions at the national level.
The Junior Beach Tour fulfils the increasing demand of quality beach programming as well. The USA Volleyball’s director of beach programs, Ali Wood Lamberson stated, “We want to see everyone out there”.
The 2011 Beach Junior Tour will kick off with the U.S. Border Open in Brownsville, Texas in May. The boys’ and girls’ teams aging from 10-18 will take part in the activity. They will travel the country over eleven weekends. Finally, they get to compete at
the USA Beach Junior Tour Champions, which will be held in Chicago this year.
The Chief Executive Officer of USA Volleyball, Doug Beal, expressed delight about the success of Beach Junior Tour. He was more than happy that a great number of USA Volleyball regions want to be a part of beach volleyball campaigns.
The tour director from the Elevation Group, Rick Schanz stated:
“We are glad to be able to continue to expand the number of tour qualifying events in 2011 and look forward to awarding championship bid invitations – that include free entry fees – to the top three placing teams in each age division for the USA Beach Junior
Tour Open Championships in Chicago”.
The USAV is hopeful about the success of 2011 Beach Junior Tour and it will surely highlight some talented beach volleyball players.
