USAV plans to organise volleyball extravaganza for learners – Volleyball news
The USA Volleyball (USAV) has joined hands with Penn State University to arrange a Volleyball Extravaganza in the month of May.
The Volleyball Extravaganza will feature a host of promotional activities for coaches, athletes, and volleyball enthusiasts. It will run in conjunction with 2011 National Collegiate and Athletic Association (NCAA) Men’s Volleyball Championship.
The U.S. Volleyball Extravaganza will complete it length from May 5-7 at the University Park, Pa. Different volleyball clinics will be part of the activity.
In addition, boys’ high school volleyball tournament organised by the State College High School will be a part of Volleyball Extravaganza. Let’s take a look at the scheme of events.
Coaches’ clinic
The USAV has arranged a volleyball clinic for coaches. The coaches’ volleyball clinic will focus on enhancing the knowledge of mentors of different volleyball squads. Top volleyball coaches of USA such as Alan Knipe, Tom Tait, Karch Kiraly and Bill Neville
will offer their services to the learners. This volleyball clinic is open to aspiring coaches, who want to further hone their coaching skills. The coaches of elementary schools, local clubs, high schools and colleges can take advantage of this opportunity.
Boys’ Clinic
The Boys’ volleyball clinic has been especially designed to coach the boys aging 12-18. Any undergraduate student athlete is allowed to register for the boys’ clinic and get a chance to learn about volleyball.
The volleyball boys’ clinic will be conducted by several USAV High Performance coaches. U.S. Men’s National Volleyball Team players and some other national coaches will also train the young crop of volleyball players. Additionally, men’s collegiate coaches
will also join the boys’ clinic. This is a wonderful opportunity for young athletes to get knack of the game.
Parent resource clinic
This is probably once in a while that such activity is organised. The free parent resource clinic will provide information to people, who are neither coaches nor athletes but they have love for volleyball. John Kessel of USAV will supervise the activity
of providing information to the general public.
Youth Sport Educators’ clinic
The Youth Sport Educators’ clinic is dedicated to the coaches of local clubs, YMCA staff, PE teachers, Girls & Boys club staff and Scout Staff etc. This activity will also be headed by John Kessel, who will teach about the necessary tools and techniques
of the game. People interested in volleyball programming are encouraged to attend this volleyball clinic.
The U.S. Volleyball Extravaganza is very good opportunity for learners. It is likely to attract a wide range of volleyball players, coaches and fans. The USAV is optimistic that it would bring positive results.
