USA’s U-17 and U-19 National teams all set for the Internationals Tournaments
The Under-17 and Under-19 US Junior Women National teams are getting themselves prepared for their foreign tournaments starting next week.
The U-19 team will be on their way to Santiago, Chile to play against the country’s Junior National team, as well as the top Chilean hockey clubs.
While, the U-17 female squad will travel to Holland to play against the national, club and district teams from various countries in the 22nd DOMO International Easter Tournament.
Recently, the US U-19 Juniors completed a four Test series that was played against the Canadian Juniors at the Olympic Training Centre in Chula Vista, San Diego. US ended with a 1-3 series defeat from the visiting juniors.
Three talented American juniors, who had missed the Canadian series, have now been added to the squad list for the Holland tour. These players, namely Maddy Carpenter, Emily Wold and Maxine Fluharty, did not get a chance to play against Canada because they
were engaged to play in Europe, appearing in the Under-21 National US Women team.
The dates for the Chile tour have not yet been finalised, but will be publicised as soon as the organising body releases it.
The youngest of the Women’s National team got selected for the 22nd Domo International Easter Hockey Tournament earlier this year during a training camp being held in Chula Vista.
The tournament is to be held at the HOD Club in Valkenswaard, Netherland on 24-25 April that comprises of both U-17 Boys' and Girls' competition. However, US only enlisted its U-17 Junior Girls to compete in the event.
The total teams participating in the U-17 Girls tournament include a total of five host teams that consist of two club teams and three district teams followed by one club team from England, two district teams from Belgium, one club team from Germany and
one national team each from US and Ireland.
This event has been organised by the HOD Hockey Club for the 22nd time, where a total of 24-32 teams will be participating in both the gender disciplines in the 2011 edition of the tournament.
Prior to this tournament, there will be three matches played against the teams as per the schedule above from April 19-21 in Holland.
The US squad selected to participated in the U-17 competition of Holland includes Megan Anstotz, Teresa Benvenuti, Emma Bozek, Alyssa Chillano, Anna Dessoye, Jordyn Hamilton, Kelcie Hromisin, Debi-Michelle Jantzen, Kayla Kenney, Delaney Leathers, Alexa Mackintire,
Gabrielle Major, Alyssa Manley, Kelley Stump, Mary Vicars, Tara Vittese, Samantha Zeiders and Shannon Johnson.
Furthermore, the U-19 women team from US to tour to Chile are Maddy Carpenter, Adrianna Crovo, Maxine Fluharty, Emily Wold, Nikki Parsley, Katie Gerzabek, Allison Evans, Aileen Johnson, Abby Beltrani, Chrissy Davidson, Sarah Hospodar, Molly Murphy, Kelsey
Harbin, Sydney Kirby, Taylor West, Georgia Holland, Jordan Page and Hannah Barreca.
