I am looking for a usb cable to hook my camcorder to my computer. It's a JVC camcorder and the model number is GR - SXM37U. I know that's important. Does anyone know what kind of USB cable I could buy for it that will fit or what kind it takes? I would appreciate any help you could give me.

  1. The JVC GR-SXM37U is a VHS-C camcorder. It is an analog camcorder and there is no USB port so you won't find a USB cable for it.

You can download your camcorder's manual here:

    http://support.jvc.com/consumer/product....

If you want to transfer video from the camcorder to your computer, you will need to connect the AV cable (that came in the box with the camcorder) to and "Analog/Digital Bridge" like those from

    http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us...

    or

    http://canopus.com/products/videoconvers...

Then connect the A/D bridge to your computer's USB or Firewire port (depending on what your computer has or needs for video transfer).

  2. That appears to be an analog camcorder. You can't use a USB cord for these types of camcorders.

If you have an analog (VHS-c) camcorder…

You need an analog converter, either internal card or external such as the dazzle. It's very easy to use and come with good software. You would hook your analog VHS-c camera to the analog converter, the dazzle and then hook the dazzle to your PC. The dazzle cost around 70.00 , but worth the money if you have a lot of VHS to tapes to convert.

**Please Note There is no 8mm or Hi 8 to VHS Adapter that currently exsists. This type of VHS Adapter only exsists with VHS-C tape**
