  1. I Believe that Network Broadband internet is what your referring to, This service runs off of the same connection that your cellphone does(most of the time, some networks use other technology).

This internet access is billed differently than standard highspeed internet access and is, (for the most part) not as fast.

most plans give you a certian amount of data transfer(MB or GB) for a flat rate and then chare you for any amount you go over.

For example Verizion wireless(I dont know if they exist outside of the USA) offers a 50mb(about 15mp3s) plan for 40$ a month, and $0.25 for each mb after that.

they also offer a 5gb(about 1400mp3s) for 60$ a month, and $0.25 for each mb after that.

please note, Not only your downloads count towards your quota, loading a web page also takes up your allowed data, things like myspace music playlists, youtube videos and pages with lots of images use an enermous amount of data

if you travel alot, it can be a good investment, but note that these services work only where there is cellular reception.

my oppinion is, if your going to be traveling or in larger cities or towns, its a better option to have home highspeed and just find an unsecured wireless network were you are if you need internet access.

if your going to be in rural areas, and need connection mobile/network broadband can be your best friend.

If im incorrect and your talking about a USB wifi dongle for your laptop, just to connect to your home wifi network, the cost is probably about 20-50$ look for one that has an external antenna or is marked "high gain". Those types will give you the strongest connection and also best range.

  2. You can get the best pricing anywhere on the web for all things related to computers at www.pricewatch.com.  Not only that, they are one of the only, if not the only site that does price comparison listings that includes the shipping in the price listed.  I would think you could get a USB wifi device for $10 or less.  In fact, looking there just now, including shipping, $8.88

  3. they can range from $25-60 depending on speed. if u want to buy online just search for it. if u want to buy in a store, try any local electronics store( best buy, fry's, radio shack, etc.)

  4. Best for the money would be the Belkin  wireless G Network Adapter. You can get one for between 35-40 bucks at walmart, target or bestbuy. It works great has good range, and even survived a trip to my washing machine via my pocket.

    Model number: f5d7050

Note: Stay away from netgear brand, they are cheaper, but more prone to problems in my humble opinion.

also beware of belkin bashers in posts to follow.

  5. yes checkout your local mobile phone providers not sure where you are but in the UK all leading mobile phone providers offer this for a monthly charge

  6. walmart carries them for $40 they work great!

  7. A USB WIFI adapter runs from about $29 to $79 depending on which brand and type(speed) you get.

Type G ones are the cheapest, while Type N (the fastest) costs more
