USB mouse not recognized. I have a Dell 582RR KVM (aka Avocent OutLook 2160ES) that has worked

Question

I have a Dell 582RR KVM (aka Avocent OutLook 2160ES) that has worked fine with PS/2 mouse and keyboard. I recently purchased a Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 which comes with a Ps/2 to USB adapter. The USB mouse is not working through the KVM with the adapter. I've restarted the KVM and still not no luck. The mouse LED doesn't come on when pullged into the KVM with the USB to PS/2 adapter.
Any ideas?
