USB port on a Sony CCD-TRV308?

I Can't find the port and I want to do some video editing on my computer. Can somebody help.

  1. The Sony CCD-TRV308 is a Hi-8 camcorder. As an analog camcorder, there is no DV (firewire) port for digital transfer. USB is used for transferring stills off the memory card or, if the camera allows, web streaming. The USB tape transfer drivers are no longer supported.

    You will use the AV cable that came with the camera and connect to your computer using USB or firewire with an analog/digital bridge.

    Or you can try a video capture card that gets installed inside your tower computer...


  2. The USB port is in the back by the battery, BUT you won't be able to edit video via the USB!! For that you need firewire or iLink which this model doesn't have. So your option now is to buy a graphic card that will accept the same analog connectors as your TV and VCR
