USC's Kristen Park turns pro - Golf news
USC’s roster is going to get thinner this season, as freshman Kristen Park has decided to start her professional career.
According to the details, the roster USC will now contain only 5 players after Park’s exclusion.
Park, a talented player with a good profile, has been outstanding throughout her career. She amazed her fans by seizing the top spot in junior circuit in the 2011 season.
Moreover, she was also honoured with the 2010 Rolex Player of the Year.
Park’s decision to join professional golf will make a dent in the USC’s roster to some extent. USC golf squad represents the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
The women’s golf team is regarded as one of best at USC, recording a number of prestigious triumphs.
Park always played the key role in her college’s team. Out of 4 events played in fall, she participated in 3, giving her best performance. She recorded two top-10 finishes.
Best of all, she proved her worth by showing her putting expertise and strength on the course.
Park has been prominent when it comes to resilience and this is why she has decided to put her skills to the even tougher test: Pro golf.
Recounting her experience of golf at the college level, Park said she always wanted to be the best at college.
She said that she paid attention to golf more than anything else and this is why her admirers have appreciated her decision to join professional golf.
“I went into college with an open mind and I found out what I wanted to do, and that was golf,” Park said.
Park is aware about how things may take shape once she formally starts playing pro events. She has decided to put all her college schedules on hold in the hope of focusing on the task at hand.
According to the reports, Park is likely to participate in Cactus Tour events for a start. However, she has even bigger plans mapped out for the current season. She said that her aim is to qualify for LPGA Tour tournaments.
The news about Park’s decision to quit college golf made her teammates and head coach a bit concerned. “It was a hard decision for me,” she said.
