Question:

USGA Public Links qualifier??

so im thinking about playing in the pub links qualifier in colorado. the qualifier is at murphy creek, and so is the final tournametn, which means all the best players are gonna be there right?? so my question is should i try and paly in that one...i am about 1 or scratch player, which doesnt stand a chance against some fo those gusy but i just want to make sure that im capable of palying with them with out making my self loook too bad

  1. I've qualified for and played in the US Pub Links.  If you are a scratch player, you will fit in fine at the state qualifier.  That event gets a lot of 'average' players because the handicap index requirement is much higher than the other national championships.  You're going to play 36 holes in one day.  Pace yourself!! Its a long day.  Dont try to be 'blood, sweat, and tears' on every shot.  Depending on the course, even to 5 under usually qualifies.  If you make the national event, it is absolutely awesome!  I've played in a few USGA national championships and you're treated like a tour star the entire week.  Good luck.


  2. At a one  you should do alright at least in the qualifier, the final usually depends on who gets hot.
