USMC Sniper/Scout School VS Infantry?

Is it worth it to be a marine sniper i mean even though there aren't that many you still dont see that much enemy unless your really behind enemy lines and are the best. so is it worth being a sniper or go into infantry like recon marines.

if you want to be a sniper you can go infantry in the Army and excel at everything, then request sniper school.  i have done missions with our snipers and its some fun stuff, other than walking miles to our objective just to sit for days (typical sniper mission in Iraq lol)  Do it!!!

Recon Marines would be exciting, no doubt. But in a real war with a large enemy recon units get wiped out first and quickly. As long as we are fighting 3rd World Nations you can survive but if we ever fought the Soviets or the North Koreans recon units probably won't last long. I mean, how long can a lightly armed and armored unit consisting of a few men survive at the edge or within enemy lines if the other army is sizeable? Not to talk you out of it but you should know the risks. And everybody want to wipe out recon units because recon units do the spotting for attack aircraft and no one wants to be laser-pointed.

If you are good and I mean really good if you become a sniper. You will not see as much action as an infantry man in a war or police action. But you are like the predator the thrill of stalking your prey, you really are hunting humans and the government pays you to do it. If you get into special ops. You may get requited for black ops. Read about things like that. The only example I can mention is Phoenix project in Vietnam. Stuff in my day are still classified. They showed things on Phoenix project on the history channel.I was a sniper either went out on an op with a 6 man team or I was called upon to do work on my own. Oh ya, look up omega man, that was what the CIA called there hired assassins which they requited through special forces snipers and Ft. Benning sniper school. You can have a lot of fun hunting human. Because they hunt back.
