Question:

USNA OR USAFA help?!?!?!?

ok so if i graduate from annapolis naval academy could i become a marine pilot as a second lieutenant? and when i want to switch back to ground could i still with my rank? and whats the chances of becoming a marine pilot when you graduate out of USNA? also is it better to go to USNA or USAFA?

  1. first off the marines won't pay millions to teach you to fly then switch you back to ground.

    If you fly, regardless, you will be commissioned a 2nd Lt

    Lastly there are more Naval and Marine pilots than the Air force.

If you want to be a Marine pilot, you should try for USNA.  About 300 2nd Lieutenants in the Marine Corps will be commissioned this coming May (out of about 1000 graduates).  If you have the necessary ASTB scores (aviation standard test battery) and are selected for Marine Corps, you will be able to get an aviation slot. However, you can't "switch back to ground" at a later time.  The Navy/Marine Corps puts a lot of money into the flight pipeline for aviators, and it is wasted if you don't fly.  However, each Marine, whether aviator or another MOS, will be trained in infantry skills during TBS.
