USO Holiday Tour to be joined by Craig Stammen, Ross Detwiler-MLB Update
Two pitchers from Washington Nationals namely, Ross Detwiler and Craig Stammen, are going to have the most exciting time of their life ahead.
As a part of the crew for the USO Holiday Tour, they will be taken to various places where troops of the country are deployed.
The location of the places that they will be visiting is not known yet. It has been kept hidden purposefully, due to the national security issues. One can only make guesses about what the ultimate destination will be for them.
There is a range of countries that can be predicted as the possible sites to be toured by them. It can be Afghanistan, Pakistan or any place where soldiers are directly or indirectly involved for the safety of the homeland.
Certainly, visiting the compound from where Osama bin Laden was found will be fascinating for these two pitchers.
After all, there are a number of questions in the mind regarding bin Laden's mansion that can be answered only when the actual area of his residence is seen and explored.
Regardless of the spot of their visit, Stammen and Detwiler are ultra enthusiastic about the journey. Detwiler, who recently got married, has left his wife in Hawaii and headed to Washington for the sake of becoming a part of the expedition.
Interestingly, his wife is also happy with him for joining the tour, which is meant to please the troops of the country manned all around the world for national security.
Detwiler is enjoying the suspense that has been created by the officials for not revealing the name of the place.
“We’re pretty much in the dark about it right now,” Detwiler said. “All we know is we’re going somewhere. You don’t know what to expect. You don’t know if you’re going to war-torn countries or if you’re just going to a base here or there. I’ve never been
to any place that there’s been a war. I don’t know what the terrain is going to look like. You don’t really know how to take it until you’re actually there looking at it.”
It is the best time for Stammen and Detwiler to go out and have some fun. As the offseason progresses, their baseball commitments will increase. That will leave a little time for them for amusement.
It will be interesting to listen to the stories that they might share after returning from the expedition.
