Question:

USPS Media Mail for Ebay

I sold a small book on Ebay's half.com and the reimbursement for shipping was $2.64. When I went to the post office, I got a bubble envelope and was charged $5.60 for sending it via Priority mail. When sending the next book I sell, what should I tell them at the post office so that I don't get charged so much? Did I pick up the wrong envelope and the guy at the post office send it with Priority mail without asking me?

  1. yes if its a book tell them media mail it will be cheaper and ask for the cheapest way because priority is 2 to 4 days i believe and media or parcel post is 5 to 9 days.

  2. Do not put it in a Priority mail envelope. If you do, they have to charge you Priority mail rate. Books do not need a bubble envelope, you can just wrap and tape them with heavy paper, such as the paper from a brown paper grocery bag.
