USPS US Postal Service Delivery Question. Tracking said delivered but has not arrived !?

I check my package tracking online today and it said it was delivered at 2:49PM. I came home and nothing was in my mail box except for mail. Now the reason the box could not have been stolen by a neighbor because I live in a private community. When I have a package it goes to a big general mail box and the mail delivery person would leave the key inside my mail box for me to get the package. Today I came home at 5:00PM and there was no key for any package. Anyway the web site said it was delivered, this is so strange because I have been buying and selling on Ebay for 6 years and this is the firtst time I have experienced this. My question is: Is it possible for the web site to say it was delivered and then they will deliver it later ? Today is Saturday so I'm gonna have to wait unitl Monday. I tried call the 800 number and it outside business hour. I have check my front door for any signature required package slip but nothing. Do you think my package might show up on Monday ? Thanks

u should contact or go to ur towns postal office .....  if is sais deliver online it suppose to tell u were is been deliver too or if someone receive it .................  and act fast to c if u find it... the thing is the mailman might have put the key in someone else box and if u live sorrounded by dishonest people there is nothing u can do but suit usps for what it was worth..........

Are you certain it said it was delivered to its final destination (you) and not delivered to the post office before delivering it to you? I'm asking because it is likely it got to the post office at 2:49 pm but wasn't put out on local delivery. So it was delivered to the local station but not out on delivery. Unless it states that it was out on delivery before it states it was delivered, then it never left the station. If it states that it was out on delivery and then states it was delivered, then the package was left there (or key), else it would have said the delivery was attempted and not that it was delivered.

If it says delievered it means that the mail carrier put it in her/his mail to be delivered.  That means it was scanned and put in the vehicle to be delievered.  Its possible that it just didn't get delievered because the carrier forgot about it.  Go in on monday and talk to your post office about your carrier.  Don't call because the 800 number is worthless in my opinion.
