USPS delivery?

I typed in the tracking number to see where my package was and the status was: delivered. and it said it was in my city.

Does this mean it was delivered to me or the postal office in my city? Because I have not received my package yet

  1. Hi. Sometimes the tracking is wacky. Keep checking on it but if it says it was delivered then that means it was scanned and dropped off somewhere and is no longer on a truck. So most likely if it isn't at your house, then it was either undeliverable and returned to the post office (either because you needed to sign or wrong address) or it was delivered to another house. but if it says the city that typically means the local post office has it.

  2. If the Scan Event shows as "Delivered", that is supposed to mean that the package was left at the address, your home or wherever you get your mail.

First thing to do is to check with any other family members that may have been around or taken in the mail. I can not tell you how many times a "lost" package turns up because Billy was home from school that day and took the package and put it in the laundry room without telling anyone. Next, check with any neighbors that may be home during the day that you may be friendly with that may have accepted your package on your behalf.

Failing that, contact your Delivery Post Office and ask that the Delivery Supervisor ask your carrier about the package. The carrier could easily remember what happened.

Worst case, package was left at your door, and it was stolen. Not very often, but it does happen. In that case. call your local Police and make a mail theft report to the US Postal Inspection Service. That is done online now.

    Good Luck
