Question:

USPS insurance claims.......?

When one files a claim with USPS for an item that was damaged during shipping, do they refund the money paid to send the item as well? Or just the item value? It so happens that this item was shipped to Canada and the shipping price is almost as much as the item worth!

  1. You do not get a return of the postage.

Also, most of the time when the item is damaged, they won't cover it - they say it wasn't packed adequately (unless there was a fire or something).

  2. If you had it insured they will pay that amount.  I have never heard of them paying the shipping cost.

  3. Unless you are trying to place the value way to high USPS will pay the amount of insurnace your purchased.
