Question:

USPS package with delivery confirmation not delivered?

I ordered a small package (priority mail) on July 2nd and it was shipped on the 9th and the delivery confirmation at USPS states that it arrived at 11 a.m. on the 9th of July.

The thing is I never received any package. I ordered other packages (larger and more expensive) and they were shipped via UPS and they arrived fine around the same time.

Is there anything I can do? The delivery confirmation states I received it but I haven't received anything.

  1. Everyone is right. UPS is different than the United States Postal Service (USPS). But if you have a tracking number, you may have a way to get some information.

If you can, catch your mail carrier when he/she delivers the mail, perhaps they remember what happened.

You need to contact the shipper and indicate that the package was never received. It will be their responsibility to find out what happened, send you another, and make sure you--the customer--is happy.

  2. Contact your local Post Office and lodge a complaint. They will either track it for you or check into who was supposed to have delivered it. Or maybe a neighbor received it instead of you.

  3. Absolutely. Call UPS.

Was there a signature or was it a carrier released item? They will investigate it for you. You can fill out an online claim as well.

Edit: Oh wait, you said USPS! Yea, go to your post office with the information. They will look up the package for you. It very well could have been delivered improperly. USPS is not as efficient as UPS.
