USPS service?

We are waiting for a box sent from Illinois to the Middle East via express with USPS. We were told it should take 3-5 days and the box was sent on July 3rd and still didn't arrive, We try to track it but there is still no update. Has anyone had problems like this with USPS and how long did it take to recieve the box? What can we do now so we can know what happened? Their website isn't very helpful.

Thank you.

  1. I work for the USPS and I send out Express Mail every day.

This is what happens to a piece of foreign mail while it is in our hands.

On Day One, you give it to a clerk at the window it is scanned there.  Later that evening it is scanned again and then assigned an Air Transportation tag and is put on a flight with FedEx to JFK International Airport.  It arrives at JFK the next morning and is sorted and put on a flight to a distribution hub in the Middle East or Europe that day.  At this point it is out of our hands.

A large part of the money that you paid us goes to that foreign so that they will continue to treat the mail like Express Mail.  However, some countries don't have the respect for the mail as we do and they don't care how well or fast they process the mail.

Since you sent it on July 3rd, it was out of the country by evening on July 4th.  The USPS cannot track it after that.

  2. I have an uncle who works for the USPS and he told me a lot of mail carriers steal mail, like birthday cards and packages, to supplement their income. You can't track the packages so they can get away with this theft without any consequences. You should never trust the USPS with anything important because they are known for stealing mail. Hope this helps.
