  1. What is the label number and I can tell you if it meets the correct format for a USPS label/tracking number.  Depending on how it was shipped you may have a label number looking like one of the following

    VH 123 456 789 US  -  Insurance label - Not trackable

    EB 123 456 789 US  -  Express mail -  Trackable

    9101 1288 8230 0001 1234 56  -  Delivery/Signature Confirmation.  These are meant to confirm delivery, not track.

    7000 0000 0000 0000 0000 - Certified - Meant to confirm delivery, not track.

    0308 0330 0000 0000 0000 - Delivery confirmation Certified - Meant to confirm delivery, not track.

Hope this helps.  Let me know if you have any questions.

  2. It may not be in the USPS system yet. In other words they paid the postage but the package has not been whipped in to the system. I did the same thing only I paid the postage and that afternoon I tried to track it but it wasn't there. The next day it was there.

  3. The USPS only updates the tracking system at night.  Also, it can take up to 3 business days to actually show your tracking number in their system.
