Question:

USPS tracking number?

OK, I will never use overnight mail with the post office ever again.

First I couldn't even track my package until 9 this morning. I mailed it at 10am yesterday.

Then They promised delivery at noon, well the lady I talked to said she could see it was currently in route and that maybe it had not been delivered and I could get my money back or the system had not updated.

I thought when they delivered it they scanned it and it showed up immed.

She said to check again after 3 and then tonight.

She reassured me my package was not lost and would be delivered today.

Will I actually get a refund or do I need to wait until tonight for an update? Anybody else ever had this problem.

  1. Yes, I work in a call center and USPS sucks and they loose stuff, you are even lucky you were able to track it, good luck with that seriously I feel for you I'm not being sarcastic

  2. There is no USPS service that offers real time tracking, not even Express Mail. All of the data from all of the Post Offices, upload the days information every evening.

You experienced exactly what you should have in seeing your scan the next morning.

If your Express Mail item was guaranteed to be delivered by Noon today, and it was not delivered nor attempted to be delivered, you can indeed request a refund of your postage.

The thing is, an attempted delivery stops the clock. USPS can not be held liable if there is nobody at the address to sign for the item. If a "Notice Left" scan was done prior to Noon, the guarantee was satisfied.

USPS will automatically attempt a redelivery tomorrow and leave another notice if necessary. At that point, the addressee will have to go to the PO to pick it up.
