Question:

UTI and BBT temps affected?

Ok. So I found out I have an UTI (AGAIN!) and the doc put me on antibotics that would be ok in case I'm pregnant (only 4 dpo, so no worrieds there).

But I chart my BBT and I'm wondering how the UTI and antibotic will affect my temps. Do you think I'll have artifically high temps b/c my body is fighting off the infection and then drop back to normal when the antibotic kicks in?

What do you guys think? I don't want to get exicted about my BBT climbing post O in case its just the infection messing the temps up...

Here's my chart

  1. Looks like you certainly ovulated yesterday! Not sure if the meds will rise your temps, but if you're only on them for a few daysit really won't make any difference anyway, because even if they go ski high, they'll be back to a normal post-Ovulatory levels before you would even be thinking of testing (or looking for a tri-phasic pattern) As long as you're off the meds by 8dpo then implantation most likely hasn't happened anyway. Good luck!

  2. Seeing as your body usually produces a fever to help rid of infection, I'd imagine you're correct in assuming a spike would be caused by the antibiotics and infection. I wouldn't get too excited until you get BFP. Good luck and lots of baby dust!

  3. You always spike a fever every time you have an infection and so, the daily temp recording will be affected. I would recommend you resume next month after the infection has cleared and take a lot of water and cranberry juice
