UTSA or UT Austin? I want to major in education. Which is better? Why? Name pros and cons of each.?

I live in San Antonio so UTSA seems better for me concerning location, but UT looks like they have a better program for elementary school teachers.

If you have the grades to get into UT Austin - go there... it has a fantastic reputation and is a wonderful school, and difficult to get in to.UTSA is very hit and miss some people love it and some hate it. If you go to Austin, be prepared for hard work. They make you work for their high standards, but it will be worth it.

From my experience no one care what grade you get on the teachers exams so long as you pass.

Well, go for the program with the best reputation, but really, the best thing is to do well on the teacher's exam right before you graduate.

In response to the second answer, some districts do in fact care what score you received on the Praxis.  Generally the higher paying ones will check.
