Uber Cup Finals: Tine Baun gives a severe lesson to Sayaka Sato in Women’s Singles contest
Denmark’s ace shuttler Tine Baun stamped her superiority in the arena when she gave a severe lesson to Japan’s Sayaka Sato in Women’s Singles clash at the Uber Cup Finals 2012 in China, on Tuesday, May 22.
Baun, who has been positioned at number 7 in Women’s Singles world placements, put up staggering show of impressive badminton and wrapped up victory against her Japanese rival in a phenomenal fashion.
The higher ranked Danish was in full swing as she showed her impressive class and ended up the battle against Sayaka in two sets by taking just 33 minutes in the court.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Japanese lady failed to live up to expectations as she could not defy the odds and bowed down to her higher ranked Danish rival without winning any game.
In the first game, Baun started her run in a thrashing manner as she played with aggression and grabbed superb lead at the early stage.
In the meanwhile, Sayaka struggled to find a good flow and also executed many negative strokes which helped her rival in taking a remarkable lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, the Danish lady maintained her upper hand in the game and continued her roller-coaster performance without showing any mercy to her lower ranked Japanese challenger.
The Danish shuttler remained on course without losing her focus in the court and bagged the set with a terrific margin of 21-8.
In the second game, Sayaka showed her class by gearing up her speed and also remained close to her higher ranked opponent until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Baun tried to use her impressive shots at net but failed to disturb the flow of her rival who was also playing at her best speed.
Sayaka remained close to Baun in the concluding half of second game but failed to maintain her elevated performance in the ending points as her opponent took over the control.
The higher ranked Baun played with precision at this crucial stage and ended the set with a close score of 21-19.
Baun managed to win this Women’s Singles battle in straight games while taking just 33 minutes with a tremendous 21-8 and 21-19 score on the board.
