A website claims to have the list of titles the publisher plans on releasing this year, with Splinter Cell: Retribution, Assassin’s Creed 3 and Prince of Persia all listed.
It is still fairly early on in 2012 with publishers getting the ball rolling on a number of their major titles; yet one website seems to have gotten their hands on the list of games that the publisher of the Assassin’s Creed and Ghost Recon series, Ubisoft, plans to release this year.
Ubisoft is coming off the back of a record setting year, as their latest foray into the Assassin’s Creed universe, Revelations, managed to break the sales record of any game in the company’s history. It also finished as one of the top five selling games of 2011 in the United States.
It looks set to follow that up this year with a number of new releases and sequels to a number of their IPs. However, Gameranx is boasting that they are in possession of the company’s release schedule for the year, which was ‘announced’ and not leaked.
First up, a number of games that everyone knows will be released this year are listed such as the post-apocalyptic survival game, I Am Alive (PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE), the Brothers in Arm reimagining with Furious 4 (PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360), two Ghost Recon titles and Assassin’s Creed 3.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is one particular game everyone will be keeping an eye as the game boasts four player cooperative gameplay and some eye poppingly sharp visuals. Ghost Recon Online on the other hand is a free-to-play game that swaps visuals for accessibility and will be released on the Nintendo Wii U and Microsoft Windows.
Assassin’s Creed 3 will also be drawing plenty of attention to itself as the series moves into a new time period and also is set to get a new protagonist. One can expect the usually brilliant trailer for that game sometime around June or July.
As for the other games, well Far Cry 3 was listed for all platforms and interestingly enough so was a new Splinter Cell game (Retribution) and a new Prince of Persia title. Also for those who enjoy the series, Just Dance Final Party is also in the works.
