Ubisoft looking to make Assassins Creed and Lumines for the PlayStation Vita
Ubisoft have been working on some of the greatest gaming titles to be played in recent years. The team went on to hit a homerun with the development of Assassins Creed and Lumines, as the two games have been hailed as being amongst the best that the company
has ever made. However, until now, when it came to handhelds, the company were pretty focused on working with the Nintendo 3DS.
With the PlayStation Vita now set to release all across the globe within the next six months, the company have now changed allegiances and are going to focus their game development for the upcoming Sony handheld.
Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, when talking about the potential of the Vita and just what it is capable of, is quoted to have said, “With its processing power, dual tactile screens and cameras, PS Vita allows creators like Ubisoft new and unique opportunities
to develop innovative games. We've got a strong and varied line-up that will offer fun and immersion to all audiences of the PS Vita.”
Ubisoft are more than likely to make Assassins Creed their flagship on the Vita. The device is nearly perfect to truly appreciate the world that Ubisoft have created with Assassins Creed.
The wall climbing, strafing, fight sequences, horse riding and weapon firing are all going to be optimised on the device, mainly due to its unique input methods. The touch screen is going to be able to help target and lock onto enemies, while the rear touch
pad is going to make strafing and side stepping a whole lot easier. At the same time, the dual analogue sticks are going to make the whole experience a whole lot more immersive.
Lumines is another game that Ubisoft could strike gold with, on the Vita. The game is a standard puzzle plat-former and involves a number of mind boggling levels. The high resolution display on the Vita and the sixaxis motion control in it is going to make
playing Lumines one h**l of an experience for everyone.
All in all, it seems like Ubisoft are more than likely going to be contributing to the sales of the Vita, with the highly impressive titles that they are going to be releasing for the handheld. However, despite having revealed the line-ups and games that
they were expecting to launch on the Vita, the people at Ubisoft were staying rather quiet over whether these versions would be new games altogether, or the same games that currently exist, with Vita compatibility.
