Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Video Game Update
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (GRFS) for the PC hit retail yesterday and gamers all over the internet are complaining that the PC version is riddled with bugs which render the game unplayable for many.
The PC version came out a month after the console release but it seems that the developers did not use that time to give it any extra polish. Instead, gamers who bought it for PC on day one were disappointed to find an unoptimised console port of the game.
Ubisoft’s official forums for the game were flooded with angry consumers demanding a fix. The issues faced by the majority include the game not recognising Mouse and Keyboard input, the Xbox 360 buttons appearing on the HUD during gameplay and other resolution
and display related problems where gamers were experiencing black borders on the screen. There were also complaints about the game performing rather poorly on many high end PCs.
“Hello! The team continues to work hard, improving the game experience, supporting the title and listening to the feedback,” was the response from Antoine Emond, who is the community developer at Ubisoft.
Ubisoft was quick to respond that the team had taken note of the problems and was working towards fixing them as soon as possible. Patch 1.2 was released the same day but instead of fixing the issues that the gamers were having, it further increased the
problems.
Gamers are furious that along with many of the pre-patch problems, now the game is locked to the 720p resolution and there is no way to change that. Furthermore the game now also seems to be causing freezing issues on both Nvidia and AMD graphic cards.
It is unknown when Ubisoft will release another patch to finally fix all the problems that were discovered after launch and those that the first patch caused. Gamers are advised to turn off Automatic game updates and stay on version 1.0 until a working fix
is released.
European Gamers are encouraged to hold off from buying Ghost Recon: Future Soldier when it launches for that region later this week on Friday. Hopefully Ubisoft will have worked out the problems and the European day one buyers will not have to face the same
aggravation that the North American buyers are going through right now.
