Ubuntu Wifi?

Hello, i have a Compaq Presario V6000 and i just installed Ubuntu on it, everything works fine and all the drivers are detected except the wireless card. It will not work at all, if someone can give me a detailed guide ( I'm new to Linux) on how to get it working that would be much appreciated.

  1. I also really like Ubuntu as a Linux alternative; however, that particular OS is well known to have problems with WiFi.  I would suggest requesting help from the Ubuntu forums, or choose a Linux OS that's better suited for your system like PCLinux.


  2. Okay the thing is, Ubuntu {more beautiful than words} Is not such a good thing for wireless. You can turn on the card using NDISwrapper and such, but you still have to turn your WEP key into a hex. Use the ubuntu forums for help
