Ubuntu wireless internet connection?

i just downloaded ubuntu. i can boot to vista or ubuntu. when i boot to ubuntu i can not connect to the wireless internet. my wired connection works fine but i dont think its finding my wireless (onboard) card. any help? i pretty much only use wireless internet. thanks

You apparently have Ubuntu 8.04, "Hardy Heron". The next version of Ubuntu, 8.10 "Intrepid Ibex", will be released this October (2008). It'll have a lot of improvements wireless-wise. For now, try googling info on your wireless card and Ubuntu like

"[wireless card company] [card model] ubuntu"

and you'll get information on configuration and things of the like.
