Udinese President, Franco Soldati, has confirmed that many of Europe's top clubs are interested in acquiring the services of Alexis Sanchez in this summer’s transfer window. He also admitted that Juventus and Barcelona have shown strong interest and the
Catalans are leading the race to sign the winger.
The chief stated that he will meet officials from many different clubs so that a possible transfer for the player could be discussed. He also added there is a very good chance of the player leaving this summer if a club is willing to accept their demands.
Soldati revealed that he will discuss financial aspects of the move with different clubs along with players being offered in exchange. He refused to comment on the time required for a deal to place.
“We will not define the negotiations today, as there are many clubs interested in our players. What I read in the newspapers is true, as everything revolves around the economic aspect and the players offered in part-exchange,” he was quoted as saying in
an interview.
Many of the top clubs in Europe are being linked to the Chilean international after a superb season with Udinese. Sanchez is seen as one of the most sought-after youngsters in Europe currently and at the age of 22, he could be a huge prospect for the future
for any club.
The president claimed that there has also been interest from English champions, Manchester United, and cash rich Manchester City, but insisted that the player could end up at either Juventus or Barcelona with the latter having the advantage of European football.
“There are also some English sides looking at Sanchez, as Manchester City and United have been tracking him all year. So have Barcelona and at this moment they are the favourites ahead of Juventus,” he concluded.
