Udinese President Giampaolo Pozzo confirms he rejected http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexis-Sánchez-c4979 bid: Serie A news
Udinese President, Giampaolo Pozzo, has admitted that some of his stars might leave the club in the summer transfer window but they have rejected a €35m offer for Alexis Sanchez.
Udinese played a goalless draw against Champions A.C Milan on Sunday, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/May-22-c39884, 2011 and a point ensured their entrance to UEFA Champions League for the next season. The Friulani have secured a Champions League berth for only the second time in their history
and Pozzo wants to get the best out of the competition next season.
Pozzo hailed the spirit of his team to qualify for the Champions League and insists that the fighting spirit the team has shown after a dismal start to the campaign is amazing. The 70-year-old insists that he will spend on a few top players in the transfer
window and some players might leave too but he would not let his star players leave.
The Italian admitted that the club have rejected a huge offer from an unnamed club for Sanchez and he reckons that the player is worth more than €35m. The President added that he sees Sanchez as an equal comparison to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296, and he
wants the Chilean to remain at the club for one more season.
“We will try to keep hold of all the players we can. Of course there are some who have offers from very big clubs, so it will be impossible to keep them all, but we are ambitious and will aim to hold on to most of them.”
“We always manage to find suitable replacements and that is our http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 in football. If we didn’t balance the books after 25 years then we’d be starving. We have received an offer of €35m that we rejected. I do not want to name the club, out of respect. Sanchez
is very young and we’d like him to stay for another year, plus we believe he’s worth more than €35m.”
Sanchez has attracted interest from a few of the top clubs in Europe including Juventus, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan and Barcelona, but Manchester City are believed to be the top contenders to land the player.
