Udinese President rejects Filippo Inzaghi rumours: Serie A news
Udinese President, Franco Soldati, has ruled out the chances of making a January move for A.C Milan striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Filippo-Inzaghi-c13777.
Inzaghi is on a one-year rolling contract at the San Siro and recent reports in the media suggested that the Zebrette are looking to sign the striker in the January transfer window. However, Soldati has ruled out the chances of
making a move for the former Italian international and insists that it is not possible.
The chief insisted that it is just fantasy football and his club is too small to sign a world class player like Inzaghi. The 61-year-old added that the former Parma striker does not fit in the club’s philosophy of buying aged players
and he is in that part of his career where he can only manage to play for at least couple of more years.
While talking to the reporters, Soldati said, “I’ve read that story too, but it is just fantasy football for now. He’s a footballer who doesn’t really come close to our footballing philosophy when it comes to buying players. It
would be an extremely difficult move to pull off even if he’s a player who I admire very much,”
“We are a small club from the provinces and we can’t take strides that are bigger than our steps. We have to work with total balance.” added the Friuli chief.
Inzaghi is 38 now and the former Juventus star has struggled with injuries recently. The former Italian international is yet to make a first-team appearance in the 2011/12 season and has missed the early action due to a hamstring
injury.
The legendary striker is also linked with a move to his boyhood club, Parma, after the Gialloblu manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Franco-c14050 Colomba, revealed his admiration for the veteran striker in his recent interview.
The former Italian international has scored 125 goals in 291 appearances for the Rossoneri since joining them from Juventus in 2001. The 38-year-old has won many individual honours throughout his almost 20 year playing career.
The striker has also scored 25 goals in 57 appearances for the Italian national team in his 10 year international career.
