Giampaolo Pozzo has slammed the referee for ruining their match against the Partenopei; insisting that the official is in disastrous form and should be rested.
Udinese president, Giampaolo Pozzo, has criticised the poor decisions made by Gianluca Rocchi in their 2-2 draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 on Sunday, March 18.
The Bianconeri boss insisted that the referee spoiled the game for Udinese, which could have ended in a victory for his side.
The Friulani were leading Napoli 2-0 when Diego Fabbrini was handed a harsh yellow card, which resulted in the striker being sent-off. Several questions were also raised on the decision of awarding a free-kick to Napoli, which
resulted in their opening goal.
This is not the first time that Gianluca Rocchi has been criticised by the club officials, and the Udinese boss believes that the out of form referee should be rested by the Lega authorities.
While talking to the press, the Zebrette chief said:
“The referee was pathetic and completely unsuited to the game. Last Sunday he didn’t see a goal, but this time he was in disastrous condition. I hope that now those in charge of assigning officials can give him a bit of a rest.”
The club official said that he has witnessed many blunders in football, but the substandard judgements in the last match have left a scar on his memory. The President insisted that it was evident from the beginning that Rocchi
was in a bad shape, and his mistakes had a significant impact on the outcome of the game.
“The sending off made me angry. The handling offence for the penalty did not prove to be decisive, but there was a series of incidents that irritated me. The referee made a crucial difference.”
Pozzo insisted that the problem was not just the sending-off or the free-kick that resulted in a goal, rather a series of unfortunate situations that frustrated his team, and contributed a lot towards Napoli’s comeback into the
game.
“The problem was not just Fabbrini’s second yellow card, but a whole series of situations after we went 2-0 up.”
Udinese remain level on points with Napoli, and are one-point behind third-placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775.
