Zeljko Brkic, the Udinese goalkeeper, admitted English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur were interested in signing him but revealed he was in no hurry to leave the Serie A side.
The Udinese stopper is currently on loan to Siena from Udinese and despite his current side involved in the relegation battle, Brkic has emerged as one of the best goalkeepers this season because of which he has been linked with a move away.
The 25-year-old admitted he was aware of the fact that the London side were interested in him and had approached his club in order to hold talks over him, but revealed he was currently focused on helping Siena avoid relegation.
He said while speaking to reporters:
“I know that before this season there were talks and that Tottenham was interested in me.
I think that Tottenham even talked with Udinese but it was all far from a conclusion. I am also in no hurry.
I have just come to Siena and I would like to prove myself on a big stage first.

In January? I am sure that nothing will happen in next transfer window.
For now, let us say that first contact with Spurs was made but that is all. I am not thinking about leaving.”

He joined Udinese on a permanent basis after a two year loan spell at Proleter Novi Sad and was immediately loaned off again to Siena. So far he has made 14 appearances in the league and has emerged as one of the top goal keepers in the Serie A.
