Francesco Guidolin reflects on the last UEFA Champions League qualifying place, and suggested that the race for
the third place in the Serie A was wide open.
The dip in form of Napoli, Udinese and Lazio in the recent rounds of the Serie A has coincided with the resurgence of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 and
Catania. Inter Milan finally won in the Serie A, the match was the first under Andrea Stramaccioni giving much to celebrate for the Inter faithful with an exciting encounter against Genoa.

The victory gave the Nerazzurri much needed breathing space, and they have an outside chance of qualifying for the Champions
League along with Vincenzo Montella’s Catania. Guidolin is of the opinion that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan of the two are still in contention of securing the Champions League berth.

AS Roma have finally hit the ground running by securing three victories in their last four matches, and are sitting in the sixth
position with 47 points. What makes things interesting is the gap between third place and the Giallorossi. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and Udinese share the fourth position in 48 points.
The tight race for the third position is one that has made Guidolin realise that the last qualifying place will be a five-way
battle. He further remarked on the standings by commenting:
“The race for third place is wide open, I agree. Teams like
Lazio, Napoli, Inter and Roma are all contending for what is important and was an early season objective for them all. Unfortunately for them, first and second place are already decided and with them all [fighting for third] is
Udinese, for which I am proud.”
Even though Guidolin did not consider Catania in contention for the Champions League qualification, the Udinese boss was still
impressed by the progress made under Montella and remarked:
“They have focused only on the League, are in great health, have enthusiasm - it is not easy to play against
Catania. Now they are also always sold out and their public pushes the team even more.”
With eight games remaining in the Serie A, the race for the third place would become ever more exciting as the season comes to
an end.
