Inter’s plans were quashed after the Italian outfit Udinese declared that no negotiations or offers were to be entertained over the transfer of their prodigal Chilean player.
Earlier, speculations were rife of the 22-year-old Chilean international making a move to Italian football powerhouse Inter Milan. Although, initially there was a snag in the process, but it was expected to be removed by offering a reasonable sum of money.
Now, President Giampaolo Pozzo has stunned the footballing world by claiming that the player was not up for sale so no one could sign El Nino for his services.
While talking to the media, Pozzo emphasized that Sanchez will not be making a move as his club required him to stay. He further explained the whole saga to be some kind of a misunderstanding.
Pozzo clarified on the saga, “I repeat, we are closed for holiday and nothing will happen until the end of the season,”
The manager elaborated on transfers when he said, “Sanchez and (Antonio) Di Natale are shackled until June. I want to keep Sanchez for at least another year.”
Reports have concluded that if there ever was a problem of miscommunication, it was on part of the player’s agent. Pozzo also recognized that his coveted attacking player was still young and he could be trained ahead for a team.
On this issue, he was found commenting, “He is young and the players here know there is the chance to do something important and I don't think they want to leave.”
Sanchez was also part of Udinese’s recent three to one triumph over their Italian competitors Internazionale, defending champions of Serie A and Champions League. If a Top 4 finish is not possible, the club will definitely be willing to capture a spot in Europe.
