Udinese’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristian-c9491 Zapata might leave for Villarreal, claims agent – Serie A Transfer Update
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 initially suggested that the Bianconeri are currently considering the offer placed by El Submarino Amarillo.
However, the player’s agent claimed that the two outfits are currently negotiating on the price tag, while personal terms are also being discussed with the defender.
Zapata’s agent, Massimo Italiani, while talking to the Italian news agency La Gazzetta dello Sport revealed that the offer made by Villarreal is being considered seriously as the club offers a great deal for the Colombian defender.
“The negotiations with the Spaniards are slowly taking good shape. I think that the deal will soon be resolved as the player and the outfit are pleased to know that a big club like Villarreal have contacted for the signature of Zapata,” said the agent.
The 24-year-old defender came to the Udine-based side in 2005 from the Colombian outfit, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Deportivo-Cali-c38921. The highly-rated player has become the first choice centre-back for the Zebrette and after a consistent 2010/11 season, a host of big European clubs
have shown interest in Zapata.
At the end of the previous term, the defender revealed that Bayern Munich and Liverpool FC are keen on luring him away from Italy ahead the upcoming 2011/12 season. However, according to the Zapata, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 are the most likely destination.
"I do not know what to say, I can say that I am very close to Liverpool.” The Colombian international said.
However, the player is still under a two-year contract at Stadio Friuli that runs out in the summers of 2013. Despite the contract, the reported 8 million Euros offer made by the Spanish outfit is being considered by the Italians and it might be an agreeable
amount for Udinese to let go of the centre-back.
Although the offer at hand is attractive for the Little Zebras, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have been reported to be in the process of tabling a bid for Zapata, and Villarreal might face serious competition for the 24-year-old’s services.
