The former manager has tipped the Borussians to shine and retain their crown at the end of the season.
Lattek, who has managed both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in his managerial career, insisted that the reigning German champions have the quality to beat any team in the country and are certainly the favourites to win the title. He stated that the champions will have to continue with their consistent form thus far, if they have any chances to secure the league trophy.
The former tactician insisted that the Borussians are playing some brilliant football at the moment and have great depth in their squad which will guide them to the league title in the end. He added that Jurgen Klopp’s side will be triumphant if they continue to perform the way they have in the last six months.
Lattek added that the likes of Bayern and Schalke will provide no competition to the Black-Yellows as they do not have the consistency. “What Dortmund are doing at the moment is top notch. They are the only Bundesliga club that is absolute top,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German stressed that Dortmund are the favourites for him and admitted that the side’s departure from Europe could be a blessing in disguise. He insisted that the side has a perfect mix and the team is very well balanced at the moment. He added that every department is strong and Jurgen Klopp’s team does not lack in defence, midfield or the attacking division.
“Dortmund are the title favourites for me at this point. Everything is working for them, their defence, midfield and attack. Bayern Munich don't stand a chance if [head coach Jurgen] Klopp's wizards keep up this form,” he concluded.
Borussia Dortmund will next host Hoffenheim at the Westfalenstadion on Saturday whereas Bayern Munich will take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 at Allianz Arena. The two sides will be hoping not to drop any more points as the race for the Bundesliga title heats up.
