  1. yes

  2. No he isn't. Him moving up in weight class is not permanent. He is helping out the UFC counter Affliction's card.

  3. No, he can't.  His belt is for a different weight class than the fight is being held at.  A title can only change hands if both of the fighters make the weight restrictions tied to that championship's weight class, and in this fight, both fighters will be WAY over.

On the other hand, if Irving wins this fight tonight (he's got a puncher's chance), then he's going to step way up in the rankings.  Any time you beat a "pound for pound best" you are going to go up, no matter what weight class it is.  He'll probably get a shot at Wanderlei Silva or the loser of Lidell/Evans, then if he wins that, he'll be in line for a shot at the 205 belt.  We'll see what happens I guess.

  4. No he is moving up in weight class.  UFC is discussing him defending his MIDDLEWEIGHT title in october on the liddell vs. evans ppv of course assuming he doesnt get hurt in the fight tonight.

  5. Of course not.  He's gunning for a 2nd belt.

  6. what tru24 said...

    well put.

  7. No, he's moving up in weight

  8. yes, no he's not, the fight is in the light heavyweight weight class, silva has the belt in the middleweight class.  Watch the affliction ppv and see fedor destroy tim sylvia

  9. its a non-title fight. almost was a catch weight bout after Irvin was over the limit at 1st weigh-in.

Silva vs Okami for the title at UFC88 on september 6th as long as Silva comes away healthy is the rumor.
