the ufc always refers to their fights like they were instant classics or wars. i admit i am a boxing fan, but how the h**l could anyone refer to pulver vs faber as a WAR. castillo-corrales was a war. i do like some mma matches, for instance the fight on the undercard with miguel torres, very good fight, that deserves the title WAR. five lopsided-uncompetitive rounds doesnt equal a war to me. i could go on all day, but ill stop for today.

  1. mabe because they have the best fighters in the world...  and to make money...  goog bet...lol

  2. You dont know much about UFC, by the way i am reading this. First off, Faber v Pulver was WEC not UFC. Second off, who gives what the title is, all i was looking for was a good fight, and thats what i saw.

  3. well u are right in some ways but mma being popular is fairly new so i see it as growing pain

  4. First off, you are referring to the WEC and not the UFC. Faber vs Pulve was a war. Did you not watch the fight? It lived up to the hype. I can understand why you are such a jerk though, if I was a boxing fan and had to watch my sport go downhill so fast and MMA shoot up like a rocket I'd be a little upset too. There are no wars in boxing, only jabs and dancing.

  5. the faber v pulver fight was great! Not many fighters can even go 2 rounds with faber, much less all 5. It was a battle- I was really rooting for pulver and I am disappointed that he lost, but faber is an incredible all-around fighter, as he showed in this fight. PS- the others ARE RIGHT it was the WEC, not the UFC. Even I know that. They hyped this fight up and they should have. It lived up to the hype. Uncompetitve rounds? were you watching the same fight? I believe that five years from now, that fight will still be remembered.

  6. another 12 year old kid believing the hype

  7. Well Mr. Dipshit, the Toress fight was a Title fight not the under card but Co-Main Event. And yes Faber vs. Pulver was a great fight. WAR? Maybe not. But any MMA fight is better than boxing. I respect all boxers but boxing is BORING. All defense and alot of trash talk, that's about it. I trained 2 years in boxing and 6 in MMA. MMA is a more complete game, boxing is more "Box not to lose" rather than "Fight to win"

  8. whats the question?

  9. that was the WEC bud

  10. The reason why so many people refer to many fights as "wars" is because the majority of fans out there just like to see big fighters who do nothing but stand up and punch each other. Most MMA fans don't appreciate good ground fighting and how quick lighter fighter are. In my opinion, the best MMA fight between two larger fighters was Forest Griffin vs. Stephen Bonner. But that fight also had a lot of story behind it which made it more exciting.

Fights like Tyson Griffin vs. Frank Edgar and other quick paced fights between quicker fighters are just as if not more exciting. Unfortunately most of the MMA fans these days only care about the big names of the UFC and have no idea who fighters like Takanori Gomi, Paulo Filho, and Gilbert Melendez. So they don't know what a real "war" or a fight is.
