Was just offered Jermaine Dye and Dustin Pedroia for Dan Uggla and Justin Verlander. Should I accept this trade? Perdroia will help my teams AVG and Rs and Dye should fill in the power i lost with Uggla. Can my pitchin afford the loss of Verlander tho?

Heres my team:

C Russell Martin

2B - Uggla

3B - Aramis

SS - HanRam

OF - Markakis

OF - Carlos Lee

OF - Abreu

Util - Huff

Util - T. Hunter

BN - Doumit, Pence

SP - Johan Santana, Haren, Verlander, Nolasco, Parra, Liriano

  1. i think you are taking a chance with your starters. but it may be a gamble worth taking if liriano comes back strong.

  2. Accept

  3. yes Pedroia is WAYY better than Uggla

and You dont need Verlander you pitchers are still awesome without him and Dye is help for any team

  4. First of all, why do you have JJ Putz on the DL still.  He's been a setup man for a week and could be taking the closer role back soon because Brandon Morrow could become a starter.

I think you should make this trade.  Your whole offense is power hitters and not many guys get as many hits as Pedroia and Dye adds power numbers and more hits.

Dan Uggla has been struggling since the break and Verlander is pitching well but you're pitching is good enough to make it through the year without him.

The team that offered the trade has to think that Pedroia's streak will end and Uggla will play well again but I would make the trade.

  5. I like this trade 4-U..

SP is the deepest(waiver wire)position, and talented ones are always coming up. Uggla+Verlander have been VerY inconsistent..Or you can package 2 offencive players for a proven SP.For instance:

T.Hunter+Doumit for Dutschersher, then fill in your empty roster spot with someone like C.Carpenter.Offencive bench players are highly over rated, especially if you have quality starters on offence.)~~G{}{}d Luck!

  6. you really have no room to put dye in... but I love pedroia... so I'd consider it...

  7. I think it is time to sell high on Uggla, who has struggled in the 2nd half the past couple of seasons.  My concern is losing Verlander, without word yet on when Liriano or C Young is back, this could be risky.  Also, I'm not sure this fills any of your needs.  But I think I would take it, Dye replaces Hunter which is an upgrade, and Pedrioa should have good value the rest of the way.

I have a feeling Liriano should be back soon, so that could fill the void left by Verlander, and you can trade your extra catcher, OF, or reliever for a strong SP if you want since I think you should make room for Putz.  Doumit should have lots of value, catchers are hard to find and you have 2, so I would trade Doumit who's having a good year.
